A Murphy bed is a type of bed added in The Sims 2 Apartment Life. It can be opened and closed into the wall, ostensibly saving space. However, when closed, it still uses up the tiles it would use if opened. If a Sim with fewer than five body points and a mood of less than -70 opens the bed, there is a 5% chance that the bed will fall on them and crush them to death. The ghost of a Sim who dies from being crushed by a Murphy bed is white, and will avoid the bed.
