The Paranormal career track is available with The Sims: Livin' Large and The Sims 2: University. Its main theme is fortune telling and connecting to the spiritual world, hence the name. The career track doesn't return in The Sims 3, nor in any of its expansion packs. However, the Fortune Teller career from The Sims 3: Supernatural is very similar to this career track, sharing some career levels, under different names. For example, the "Tarot Card Reader" level is basically the "Tarot Card Shark" level from Supernatural.

Combining Entertainments extremely low pay at rank 1 ($100), Businesss pay at rank 10 ($1200), Politicss ridiculously high number of friends required to reach rank 10 (17 friends!), and the Musicians brutally bent and low pay curve at every rank in between, Paranormal is one of the worst career tracks in the game or any of its expansions. It is inferior to Entertainment, Business, Pro Athlete, and Hacker in every conceivable way, except that it offers better pay at rank 4 than Hacker and Entertainment, and better pay at rank 9 than Business. Only pursue this track if you're looking for an extreme challenge, or you're using cheat codes.

The Paranormal career requires a college education. Thus, there is no part-time career for teens and elders. If Apartment Life is installed, Techs are likely to work in this career. The reward object is the Resurrect-O-Nomitron, available when promoted to Medium. It can be used to resurrect dead Sims. The college majors associated with this career are Philosophy, Psychology, and Physics.
