The two pets also have to be friendly with each other or else one of the pets will just walk away. If the command from the Sim is successful, the pets will then mate and the female will become pregnant. Dogs and cats can have litters of 1-3 offspring, depending on space in the household and randomness. Sims ~~cannot~~can sell puppies and kittens.
