Scratching Post

Scratching posts are objects included in The Sims: Unleashed, The Sims 2: Pets, and The Sims 3: Pets. They are used to fulfill the scratch motive of cats.[TS2:P][TS3:Pets] They are also used to encourage cats not to destroy furniture.
