Sentiments are a gameplay mechanic featured in the November 2020 Patch for The Sims 4. Sentiments are underlying feelings Sims will have towards other particular Sims and are unique between two Sims, sentiments are gained by interacting with another Sim in a significantly positive or negative way, once a Sim has achieved a sentiment with another, they will feel a certain way when that Sim enters the room or space they're in.
Sentiments come in short-term or long-term sentiments which will effect how strong the emotions are when the two Sims are in the same room as well as how long the sentiments will last. Sims can have up to four sentiments for another Sim, when they have four sentiments and gain a new one, the weakest sentiment will be replaced.
