Create a Style lets the player choose and change the patterns and colors of objects in The Sims 3. From Create a Style players can save patterns and objects and export them to be uploaded to TheSims3.com.

This tool not only allows players to vastly personalize just about any object in their Sims' homes including the walls and floors; it also allows players to design themes for a room by copying the theme from one object and dragging it to another object to apply that style to that object, which is useful due the high levels of customization that is available in the game. This allows for players to stylize objects beyond the game's suggested themes, although not all aspects of all objects can be customized.

The Sims 2 and The Sims 4 do not feature a Create a Style tool. Instead, they include a Design tool that allows the player to change the recolor of an existing object, but do not allow for other forms of customization, such as being able to add custom colors using a color wheel.
