The '''Birthday Inferno Birthday Cake''' is an object in ''[[The Sims 3]]'' and can be bought at the [[supermarket]]. It can also be found in the Entertainment > Parties category in [[Buy mode]], if Buybuy mode is set to "Sort by Function". It is used to age up a Sim by one [[life stage]]. It can be used to age up any Sim on the lot, not just Sims in the household. There's a 2% chance it will catch fire when Sims blow the candles.

Cakes must be baked manually by Sims. Sims can bake either white or chocolate cakes; if ''Up All Night'' digital content is installed, Sims can also bake a "hamburger" cake. Depending on the cooking skill level, Sims can also make a blue confetti or strawberry cake. In addition, black and white cakes from the gourmet cooking skill can be used as birthday cakes. Sims aged child and older can blow out birthdaythe cakescandles on withouttheir helpown, but toddlers require either a teen, a young adult, an adult, or an elder to carry them to the cake. Elders, like in previous gamegames, cannot be aged- up using the cake.
