In ''[[The Sims 2]]'', Sims couldn't get out of the pool without a ladder. Many players would intentionally drown their Sims by removing the ladders while Sims were swimming in the pool. It's possible Skip's death is a reference to this popular practice to quickly get rid of unwanted Sims.
