Julio spent his childhood in the shanty towns of his hometown, and has grown accustomed to life in them. While he was not an ace student in school, he maintained a solid circle of friends in the slums, and would meet up with them on a daily basis. Despite his family's financial situation, and despite the life he lived, Julio was content and felt very attached to his friends. He also maintained a close bond with his father, although he did not have a very good relationship with his mother or his younger siblings.
