The moment this sprinkler detects extreme heat in its vicinity, a shower of flame-quenching water rains down and immediately extinguishes the threat. However, beware of pranksters sporting a lighter, since this sprinkler does not discriminate when it comes to fire prevention.

Sprinklers must be placed indoors. A sprinkler covers a 5x5 area, centered on the sprinkler. Any fire that starts under the sprinkler or within two squares of it will immediately be extinguished, but the sprinkler will leave a watery mess that must be mopped up. Nearby Sims will react to the sprinkler by running around with their hands over their heads until it stops operating. If the player cancels this action, it will be pushed back on the Sim.

 

Sims can pull a [[prank]] by taking out a lighter and putting it under a sprinkler, causing it to go off. On [[college]] lots, an [[Mascot#The Evil Mascot|evil mascot]] may do this autonomously.
