"The BOB 3942" synthesizer is a musical instrument introduced in The Sims 2: FreeTime. It can be used by children and up. Using it builds creativity and enthusiasm for the Music and Dance hobby.
The synthesizer has its own interactions. Sims can practice on it or perform random tracks. Sims with higher creativity can create custom tracks, which they can save and perform.

The name "BOB 3942" may be a reference to Robert Moog, the inventor of the Moog synthesizer, while the appearance is reminiscent of the Doepfer modular systems.
