This article is covered better in the Aliens article and doesn't require it's own page. --Mr montmorency 02:59, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

:I disagree. The Alien article (quite properly, IMO) doesn't mention The Sims, as creating an alien-appearing Sim in The Sims requires the use of custom skins. However, alien abduction is part of The Sims, even if the aliens themselves don't appear on-screen. Dharden 11:58, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

::The subject is covered more effectively already on the information in Sims 2. For at least 3 games, the method is a the same and can be condensed into one sentence under "Abduction in other games" or something to that effect. Simply requires a new section. --Mr montmorency 18:05, April 1, 2010 (UTC)
I've yet to have my young adult Sims use the Farstar e3 telescope on campus, so I'm wondering how the game handles this. Does it simply apply the "no pregnancy for YAs" rule, or do the aliens see campuses as off limits? Dharden (talk) 15:37, March 24, 2011 (UTC)

I got a male Sim in college abducted once, and nothing happened. Another young adult male, however, did start showing the signs of pregnancy the second he left college and moved into the neighborhood, even though at least a Sim week had passed since his abduction. I'm not sure if one was a glitch or not...
:::This should be merged with Aliens, because they do it and you can get pregnant from them, by Alien abductions in The Sims 2. Also, the aliens are the ones actually doing the abdutions. --Lewislew 19:28, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

:Maybe that's possible? I guess, in theory, Sims keep gaining the enthusiasm while being abducted until they get home. But I don't know. Usually my Sims would've maximized their enthusiasm before ever being abducted. Maybe I could try summoning aliens over and over to see if it would actually give them enthusiasm in my test hood... Abductions from University[edit source]

Abduction Time in the Sims 1[edit source]

The Sims (1) Alien Abduction

I read the article to know what happened to my sim who suddenly dissappeared off the lot. After that, I tried my best to get him abducted again to change his traits (which have worsened). In the process, I discovered the game code AI of abducting Sims, and that to intentionally get your sim abducted, he has to stargaze (but not by day or night), by the hour between day and night as the sun rises and sets (you can notice the difference of lighting).

I edited the article explaining this helpful trick for players who want to alter their sims traits, but later, as I passed by the article, I found it has been changed back to the FALSE: there is a low chance of the Sim getting abducted if you use the telescope at night.

I moved it to trivia because it is a tips to get abducted. Wiryawan310 10:00, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Please do not change my edit, as it is true, and I got some Sims abducted up to 5 times in a row by applying this trick. If you still doubt what I'm saying, try it. Try stargazing in the twilight hour (as in star gazing, and finish as well before the sun has fully risen), or stargazing in the hour right before the twilight hour (as in start before the twilight, but finish during twilight).

Science enthusiasm while abducted?[edit source]

I recently had a Sim receive the plaque message (I use Pescado's nohobbyspam) while he was "away" after using the Farstar telescope. He was already at level 9; I don't know how close to max he was, but I did not get the "maximum enthusiasm" message while he was using the 'scope. Anyway, that set me to wondering whether Sims gain Science enthusiasm while they're "away". Dharden (talk) 19:31, December 10, 2012 (UTC)
