:Maybe Barnacle Bay doesn't take place 50 years before The Sims 2 but is contemporary to Pleasantview. Maybe the Caliente sisters are in holidays in Barnacle Bay... --Aster09 11:03, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
: actually The Sims 3 takes place 50 years before the Sims 2 and 25 before The Sims 1. thus they are in Barnacle Bay 50 years before the events in Pleasant View. so either time travel was involved or if this is where they are from then they might have ate a lot of Ambrosia and 30 or 40 years later drank the Elixer of Life to stay young.Bafendo 13:42, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

:Bafendo, that they're young adults in Barnacle Bay and adults in Pleasantview is something of an artifact. In TS2, they - and Don - are almost at the beginning of the adult stage. So, if one were to recreate Pleasantview in TS3, they would be young adults. Also, Barnacle Bay may be somewhat disconnected from the main storyline(s). In the other TS3 'hoods, returning Sims (with the exception of Don) have been younger than they were in TS1 and/or TS2. That, by itself, marks them as prequels. However, if Nina and Dina are the only returning Sims in Barnacle Bay, there may be room for players to treat it as more-or-less contemporary to Pleasantview, if they so choose.

:Mph... for all I know, they "hitched a ride" and came back 50 years later, still young. Dharden (talk) 14:13, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
::It might even be that the game creators, feeling restricted by the concept of setting TS3 50 years in the past, decided to break canon and just start a totally new plot and storyline. Also, are the Caliente sisters supposed to be twins? Because if you look at their ages, they're not the same age. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 14:26, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
:: i see that about Don too. default age in the sims 2 was adult and sims 3 young adult so that's a given, and they are supposed to be twins like LiR said. although in my game play at times twins and triplets age sometimes have a day between them even though at first they didn't, maybe a glitch. hey i got an idea. one of my sims time travel experiences with the time machine was 50 years in the future... this gives me another idea for a player story on the sisters...Bafendo 14:47, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
::: I think Nina and Dina from Barnacle Bay are different people than the ones from Pleasantview, especially considering that in Barnacle Bay they are not the same age, and in Pleasantview they are the exact same age (twins).--Eduardog3000 20:13, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
:::: I'm starting to see that The Sims 3 is one big continuity disaster and i expect it now. If there was no continuity issues with EA, hell would freeze over and Maxis and Will W would be back in charge.Bafendo 06:15, September 25, 2010 (UTC)
:::Actually, if you read Nina's bio, it states that they are twins, so we can rule that out. However, if you read Dina's bio in The Sims 3, it acknowledges the events that happened in The Sims 2, meaning that Barnacle Bay must take place after The Sims 2, since there is no evidence that the Caliente sisters time traveled. --Random Ranaun 18:21, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Returning Families
I've eliminated the 'returning families' section from the article. There is only one returning family (the family never existed before, since Goopy GilsCarbo may not be related to them), so there's no sense in having a section devoted to them. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 18:23, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

:I agree with Random Ranaun, I think Barnacle Bay takes place after The Sims 2. So, maybe Goopy is Alice's ex-husband and Celeste's father. --Aster09 19:24, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
::There's no way to know that for sure. Also, putting Barnacle Bay after TS2 disrupts the chronology of the entire game. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 19:28, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
:::Tell that to EA (they probably won't listen though :p). In Twinbrook, we have the Knack family under returning families, even though there is not a known connection between them. I think we should still have the 'New Families' and 'Returning Families' sections because of the reason above and because it makes the 'Families' section look more organized. --Random Ranaun 04:11, September 27, 2010 (UTC)

Georgia Murphy?
In the 'Families' section, one of the families is the Murphy family (Georgia Murphy). I can't seem to find them in my game, and in the families section, it says that they live on the same lot as the family, which leads me to think that they aren't real. Does anyone have Georgia Murphy in their game? If so, can you please add an article about her? --Random Ranaun 04:19, September 28, 2010 (UTC)

Chronology
This page has a new poll for what the next neighborhood should be, one describes including the citizens of Sunset Valley's great-grandchildren living there, which could mean that they (the creators of the game) are no longer looking at the "50 years before" chronology, probably meaning that Barnacle Bay happens after The Sims 2 (especially since the Caliente sisters' family bio mentions them once being in Pleasantview).--Eduardog3000
:Yep. This pretty much confirms that each neighborhood in TS3 can be set at any point in time. So, Sunset Valley and Riverview are currently the only neighborhoods that take place 50 years before TS2, while Twinbrook seems to take place more than 50 years before TS2, and Barnacle Bay takes place some time after TS2. Should we state this in the article somehow? —Random Ranaun (Talk to me!) 00:11, November 15, 2010 (UTC)
::What makes you say that Twinbrook happens before Sunset Valley and Riverview? Also, I think Bridgeport takes place at the same time as Sunset Valley, because, the bio mentions the Altos, so they must have left Bridgeport (with their "uptown ideals" as the game puts it) and came to Sunset Valley.--Eduardog3000 00:47, November 15, 2010 (UTC)

Sims' Careers?
Most of the articles about Sims from Barnacle Bay are missing career information. I don't have Barnacle Bay, so I can't put down the information. 2001:8003:38C3:F800:AC9D:B7BC:7436:4474 (talk) 11:05, August 1, 2018 (UTC)
