Talk:Fishing (The Sims 3)

I've added the weights and base prices for the various fish, as per the Fishing XML data in the GameplayData.package (at Instance 0x90142107481DE889 for those interested). However, I haven't located the modifiers based on the -Quality- of the fish caught, so if anyone is able to find this out... as it is, the upper and lower prices may be off based on the quality level of the fish caught. 65.190.64.228 08:18, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Omni plant seed impossible while fishing

The XML shows <BoxItems>

<ItemDbName>OmniPlantSeed</ItemDbName>
 <Happy>True</Happy>
 <RelativeProbability>0</RelativeProbability>
</BoxItems>

Hence, in an unmodded game it will be impossible to fish out the seed.

Vampire Fish

It is so weird, the bait for vampire fish is garlic, but garlic should make them try to get away from the hook. I mean, I guess while trying to choose what a vampire fish's bait would be, they chose garlic because they thought it was the closest thing that has anything to do with vampires. They should make a patch that changes the bait to Plasma Fruit (adding the fruit, but not vampires to base game).--Eduardog3000 01:31, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Weight

Are these weights accurate? The death fish is listed as having a max weight of 80, but my sim (angler, master fisherman, both challenges completed) has caught over 100 death fish, the heaviest of which is 109.93 kg.

Robot Fish

How can a sim hold a Robot Fish if it weighs more than him or do Sims weigh 1250+ :D Contractas1 15:28, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

IP Fish

I don't know why fish from Island Paradise keep getting added over and over... We haven't had the exact information about the new fish in IP (the previews from various sites never bothered to find this out). We're not sure either if these fish are actually collectable or just plain accessories in the ocean. All the details are also conjectural. Nikel _{Talk – Vote!} 13:01, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
