==Ambitions gems==
Unadded are the new gems in Sims 3 Ambitions Expansion Pack, like Fluoride (rare) <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:24.89.250.133|24.89.250.133]] ([[User talk:24.89.250.133|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/24.89.250.133|contribs]]) 15:27, June 6, 2010</small>

==Tiberium==
Has someone really experienced tiberium spires spawning more tiberium, or is that only from some old news post mentioning that? I have had perhaps a hundred of large spires (up to ten at once), of which none spawned new spires. Though I usually, but not always, sell them when they become large. <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:82.130.17.3|82.130.17.3]] ([[User talk:82.130.17.3|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/82.130.17.3|contribs]]) 19:06, June 21, 2010 (UTC) - Sign your comments with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></small>
:No, it's just a rumor. '''[[User:Duskey|Duskey]]'''<small>([[User_talk:Duskey|<span style="color:green;">talk</span>]])</small> 12:54, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
* Just one second there, I can CONFIRM that it DEFINATELY happens. I've seen it happen multiple times. It has to be on grass, not on a display case or anything like that. --[[User:Rossmallo|Rossmallo]] 01:13, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

== heart-shaped cut ==

I have 11 different gems but still no option for the heart-shaped cut.. (in the game it says i have found 82% of all gems)

(sims 3 + ambitions) <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:82.169.69.123|82.169.69.123]] ([[User talk:82.169.69.123|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/82.169.69.123|contribs]]) 12:50, August 30, 2010 (UTC) - Sign your comments with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></small>

:The heart-shaped cut is unlocked per Sim, make sure you have the Sim who has collected at least 10 different types of gems selected, when you try to have gems cut. In the future, you might have better luck asking gameplay questions in the [[Forum:Questions|Questions forum]]. ::Same shit is happening to me, many, MANY gems found and still no bloody heart shape option for pink gems.... [[Special:Contributions/27.32.100.152|27.32.100.152]] 14:14, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

:: I think I figured it out! I'm not positive, but I THINK if you get something from mining it doesn't count in your collecting. I'm running some tests and I'll post some more information once I figure it out completely. Kitty553 says: THE GAME!!! 19:36, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

:: EDIT: I WAS RIGHT! HOORAY FOR ME! You have to collect 10 different gems without using the miner, which would be the preferred way of getting them because 1.: you don't have to find them or wait for them to spawn, 2.: it's the only way to get fluorite, and 3.: you're always going to have one since you have to invent everything before you get the opportunity. It's a good thing doesn't have to be collected because it can only be aquired from the miner. Kitty553 says: THE GAME!!! 19:36, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

== Split suggestion ==

As a random visitor, I'd like to support giving tiberium its own page. People coming to this page either want general information on gems, or specifics on tiberium, being the 'special' option. It could stand to be seperate and help reduce visual clutter. [[Special:Contributions/81.178.130.79|81.178.130.79]] 02:29, November 13, 2010 (UTC)

== Gem Descriptions ==

Should a column be added with the gem descriptions? [[User:Trimalynn|Trimalynn]] 23:45, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

== The Tiberium Split ==

Please allow me to make the page! I'm more than willing to page the page, although I'll need some help.[[User:SimAddict|SimAddict]] 12:07, March 15, 2011 (UTC)

I know how some of you are talking about splitting the Tiberium section. I just made the page today. Just saying.[[User:SimAddict|SimAddict]] 11:34, March 29, 2011 (UTC)

==The Use?==
What exactly are gems for? Should I just sell them or what? Other than particular gems used for things like making SimBot, I don't really see the use of them. :You can put them in your house, or sell them. I don't see the use of them either. ::They make good decorations and give Sims nice moodlets as a result. They're also something to collect. Some players like the feeling of completing a collection of every type of gem and gain satisfaction from acquiring difficult cuts for example. Mostly, it's a matter of goals and playstyle. -- [[User:Lexmechanic|Lexmechanic]] ([[User talk:Lexmechanic|talk]]) 02:42, September 10, 2012 (UTC)
:::Hmm, good point. But do they really give Sims moodlets? Never encountered any before. I wonder if collecting gems has anything to do with [[Gatherer (trait)|Gatherer]] trait? [[User:Nikel23|'''<span style="color:#007FFF; text-shadow: #ACE5EE 0 4px 4px;">Nikel</span>''']] [[User talk:Nikel23|<span style="color: #30D5C8 ; text-shadow: #00FFEF 0 4px 4px;"><sub>''Talk''</sub></span>]] <sub>–</sub> [[The Sims Wiki:Featured Media/Voting|<span style="color:red ; text-shadow:#E97451 0 4px 4px;"><sub>''Vote!''</sub></span>]] 02:49, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

::::You've really never found any? That surprises me - they can be found laying on the ground randomly around the neighborhood. If you decorate your Sims' surroundings well, they do indeed get moodlets that increase in effect the more decorated the room gets. The Gather trait improves the quality of gems, metals, etc. as the Sim picks them up or retrieves the cut/refined items from a mailbox, I believe. -- [[User:Lexmechanic|Lexmechanic]] ([[User talk:Lexmechanic|talk]]) 02:56, September 10, 2012 (UTC)
:::::Nah, I meant I never encountered any moodlets from the gems. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Oh, you meant the gems raise the environment score? I didn't really know, because they're just so tiny I didn't know it affects the environment. I thought there was a special moodlet from the gems. == Supernatural Gems ==

There is a Sun cut for gems now. It can be found in tombs, I know that for sure, although it's probably obtainable other ways. There are also, of course, Sunstone and Moonstone gems. -- [[User:Lexmechanic|Lexmechanic]] ([[User talk:Lexmechanic|talk]]) 00:34, September 10, 2012 (UTC)
:I haven't had ''Supernatural'', but I predict there's a gem named Bloodstone too, isn't there? I hope someone with ''Supernatural'' can update the table with details.. ::Yes, there is Bloodstone. There is also a Moon cut for gems as well, shaped like the crescent keystones from WA. I don't really know how to make those lovely pictures in the article, otherwise I would. -- [[User:Lexmechanic|Lexmechanic]] ([[User talk:Lexmechanic|talk]]) 02:44, September 10, 2012 (UTC)
:::The images can wait. I'll just expand the table for now. [[User:Nikel23|'''<span style="color:#007FFF; text-shadow: #ACE5EE 0 4px 4px;">Nikel</span>''']] [[User talk:Nikel23|<span style="color: #30D5C8 ; text-shadow: #00FFEF 0 4px 4px;"><sub>''Talk''</sub></span>]] <sub>–</sub> [[The Sims Wiki:Featured Media/Voting|<span style="color:red ; text-shadow:#E97451 0 4px 4px;"><sub>''Vote!''</sub></span>]] 02:52, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

::::Gem dust seems to work in all ways the same as an "actual" cut, so I'm adding it to the list. In my opinion, this makes dust a great option for transfiguring soulpeace gems, among other uses. I can't remember if you can send raw gems in the mail to be pulverized though. -- [[User:Lexmechanic|Lexmechanic]] ([[User talk:Lexmechanic|talk]]) 18:37, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
:::::It seems like the Gem Dust has approximately 25% of the value of the original gem. I shall come with more data afterward to confirm this guess. [[User:Mathetesalexandrou|<span style="color:#00CC33">MILK FOR THE UNYUUFEX, </span><span style="color:#00AADD">FLAT CHEST FOR THE CUTENESS THRONE, </span><span style="color:#88AAAA">SKULLS FOR THE SKULL PROBES </span>]] ([[user talk:Mathetesalexandrou]]) 14:45, September 21, 2012 (UTC)

::::::I'm sure you've considered it, but try not to have the Gatherer trait on the Sim you're testing with. I'm pretty sure that increases the value of cut gems. -- [[User:Lexmechanic|Lexmechanic]] ([[User talk:Lexmechanic|talk]]) 18:22, September 21, 2012 (UTC)
