Tiberium

Has someone really experienced tiberium spires spawning more tiberium, or is that only from some old news post mentioning that? I have had perhaps a hundred of large spires (up to ten at once), of which none spawned new spires. heart-shaped cut

I have 11 different gems but still no option for the heart-shaped cut.. (in the game it says i have found 82% of all gems)

The heart-shaped cut is unlocked per Sim, make sure you have the Sim who has collected at least 10 different types of gems selected, when you try to have gems cut. In the future, you might have better luck asking gameplay questions in the Questions forum. Duskey(talk) 12:54, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

I think I figured it out! I'm not positive, but I THINK if you get something from mining it doesn't count in your collecting. I'm running some tests and I'll post some more information once I figure it out completely. Kitty553 says: THE GAME!!! 19:36, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

EDIT: I WAS RIGHT! HOORAY FOR ME! You have to collect 10 different gems without using the miner, which would be the preferred way of getting them because 1.: you don't have to find them or wait for them to spawn, 2.: it's the only way to get fluorite, and 3.: you're always going to have one since you have to invent everything before you get the opportunity. It's a good thing doesn't have to be collected because it can only be aquired from the miner. Kitty553 says: THE GAME!!! 19:36, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

Split suggestion

As a random visitor, I'd like to support giving tiberium its own page. People coming to this page either want general information on gems, or specifics on tiberium, being the 'special' option. The Use?

What exactly are gems for? Should I just sell them or what? Other than particular gems used for things like making SimBot, I don't really see the use of them. Nikel _{Talk – Vote – Guess!} 09:12, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

They make good decorations and give Sims nice moodlets as a result. They're also something to collect. Some players like the feeling of completing a collection of every type of gem and gain satisfaction from acquiring difficult cuts for example. You've really never found any? That surprises me - they can be found laying on the ground randomly around the neighborhood. If you decorate your Sims' surroundings well, they do indeed get moodlets that increase in effect the more decorated the room gets. The Gather trait improves the quality of gems, metals, etc. as the Sim picks them up or retrieves the cut/refined items from a mailbox, I believe. -- Lexmechanic (talk) 02:56, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

Nah, I meant I never encountered any moodlets from the gems. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Oh, you meant the gems raise the environment score? I didn't really know, because they're just so tiny I didn't know it affects the environment. I thought there was a special moodlet from the gems. Supernatural Gems

There is a Sun cut for gems now. It can be found in tombs, I know that for sure, although it's probably obtainable other ways. There are also, of course, Sunstone and Moonstone gems. -- Lexmechanic (talk) 00:34, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, there is Bloodstone. There is also a Moon cut for gems as well, shaped like the crescent keystones from WA. I don't really know how to make those lovely pictures in the article, otherwise I would. -- Lexmechanic (talk) 02:44, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

Gem dust seems to work in all ways the same as an "actual" cut, so I'm adding it to the list. In my opinion, this makes dust a great option for transfiguring soulpeace gems, among other uses. I can't remember if you can send raw gems in the mail to be pulverized though. -- Lexmechanic (talk) 18:37, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

I'm sure you've considered it, but try not to have the Gatherer trait on the Sim you're testing with. I'm pretty sure that increases the value of cut gems. -- Lexmechanic (talk) 18:22, September 21, 2012 (UTC)
