It sounds like this new feature allows Sims to move between neighborhoods, but it does not appear that it allows Sims to casually travel back and forth between them. Dharden (talk) 01:54, August 4, 2013 (UTC)
:From what I've heard, the move feature is as simple as storing the household to the library and place them to a new world. The previous world is scrapped entirely, so you'll lose whatever progress you've had there. And I heard it's not entirely safe too, but I didn't really pay attention to that technical stuff. Using Twallan's mod will still keep the progress and data, although it will surely bloat the file size. ==How to duplicate neighborhoods?==
After restoring my neighborhood with help from Nikel, see here, I managed to fix Pleasantview. However, I want to try and duplicate it. Everything on the internet is confusing and I would to here a easy tutorial here. Joey.eyeball (talk) 00:01, December 21, 2013 (UTC)
:You mean like having two Pleasantviews in the neighborhood selection at once? ::Haven't tried it yet, but you could just copy the entire neighborhood folder (e.g. N001) to another folder, let's say the Desktop. Then, use Bulk Rename Utility to rename every single file in the folder to the new ID. For this, we'll rename N001 to N222. Each file has a little prefix on it that matches the folder ID. You can't just rename the folder and ignore the files, otherwise the hood will not appear in-game. You must rename all the prefixes to the new folder ID, so every file must start with N222. Now rename the neighborhood folder to N222. Load the game. The second Pleasantview should appear, as the game should assign the second PV a new Neighborhood ID (which is different from folder ID). :::Yes. I want two Pleasantviews in the neighborhood selection at once. But I want to do that without downloading if possible. Joey.eyeball (talk) 08:09, December 22, 2013 (UTC)
::::I guess you should follow K6ka's method. There's no restriction on having multiple copies of a neighborhood at once, but the problem is, the neighborhood IDs cannot be the same. For example, Pleasantview is by default N001. If you want another Pleasantview, the neighborhood ID shouldn't be N001, but it has to be anything else, like N321.

::::Like K6ka said, just renaming the folder won't do it. You must rename every single file in the folder that has N001 prefixes. Since I imagine there'd be hundreds of files to rename (hundreds of Sims), you're left to choose to manually rename them all, or use a program. :::::Files in the Characters, Lots, and Thumbnails folders all have neighborhood-specific prefixes, as do files in the neighborhood's main folder. Here's how I'd do a bulk-rename. Open the Command Prompt, which should start in C:\Users\(account) . Use the cd command to go to the neighborhood's main folder. Type "ren N001*.* N222*.*" (w/o the quotes) , hit Enter. Repeat for Characters, Lots, and Thumbnails. Easy as pie, and no third-party program required. (Mind. I don't know if M$ kept the Command Prompt in Win 7/8, but if it is there, this should work.)
