Snooty Sims Cheat[edit source]

I heard about a cheat on Snooty Sims that said you can take a sim back to CAS to alter their look. It is not listed here, but I was wonderin' if it is true can you also change their name, sex, skin, color, traits, etc? I hope so!!!!!!!!!--Bella Goth 06:27, 6 June 2009 (UTC)Bella Goth

I dont know if it works. But "Edit in CAS" cheat is listed in Gamespot.

I dunno, I tried it too but it didn't work.I hear ppl got form the prima guide. went my prima guide gets finished being shiped to me, i 'll confirm it for you ,ok?:)FREEDOM 55

I had that cheat listed, but someone said that it didn't work though it was listed in the prima guide (and commented so beside it on the page), and another user later removed it. inchwyrm

I removed them because they do not work as tested by myself and others. I'm curious about this Prima strategy guide as it seems to be the source of these fake/incorrect cheats that's been distributed to too many cheat sites. They don't make sense in the Sims console command syntax; one simply does not "edit in cas" as it has spaces (which would be fine if it was a command like boolprop, but that doesn't exist in Sims 3). Bottom line is there is no cheat to edit a sim back in CAS AFAIK. There may be a hidden code like "editsim" that hasn't been dug out yet, but it's definitely not "edit in cas" or any of the other codes listed so far. Gnu32 02:53, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Often differences in the Prima and Brady guides from the real game is caused by the fact that they get beta copies of the game. These are never the same as the copy that is released. This is because they need to be able to have it printed and ready for release along side the game, and that just cannot be done using final versions. Another reason is that their editors aren't very good (I remember the Prima guide for Oblivion said there are 10 places where you can find Aeliad Statues, then proceeded to list 11 of them. I searched that 1 with a fine toothed comb before I counted and realized Prima's mistake). As such, don't trust the Prima guide too much. That's what Wikia and other online guides are for. At least they're based on the final game, even if they aren't available right away! —ErzengelLichtes (Contribs) 06:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Very good point that. Tis' a shame there couldn't be an actual 'edit in CAS' code though. But who knows, that might come up in the later expansion packs. Cheers for the explanation! Gnu32 22:36, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

There can only be one explenation for this mess, EA his figured out that most players use only cheat codes to play these games and now there screwing around with our minds with fake codes, I wouldn't put it past them to do somthing like that. Drsdino 03:20, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

As an industry professional, I highly doubt that. A lot of developers have codes that are used for debug purposes only. Some leave them in, some remove them. Leaving them in can be a problem because they're a part of the game and are expected to work, and so the producers and managers might require such cheats be tested thoroughly. Taking them out presents a different set of problems: You need to thoroughly test the version without cheats, as taking them out could have broken something, but now you don't have the debug tools to make testing easier! More than likely, EA always intended on removing whatever cheats they removed. They may have neglected to mention this to Prima, or Prima may not have gotten the message. It's unlikely that they're screwing with the heads of their customers (that's the job of Marketing and DRM Integration).—ErzengelLichtes (Contribs) 06:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Whatever this is, don't add it until we are sure this is a cheat. Amy Cotton 06:46, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

{C}ok. i have the prima guide guys. and before you type in non basic cheats, it seems you hav e type 'testingCheats Enabled' in the cheat box and hit enter. just like how i wrote it above.this enbles cheat functionality. I'm going to check this out right now in my game ...so as this SECOND i'm only 97% sure this works. {C}If you think a bout it , the cheat would make sense to being able to go back in,since sism go in CAS anyways whn they want to change their wardrobe, accessories, and or make-up.FREEDOM 55 20:05, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

After entering the "testingcheatsenabled true" in the command box, return to normal game play. Select the sim you wish to edit and Shift+click the sim to edit. A new menu wheel will appear with debug options like "Edit in CAS" and "Modify Traits", etc. Very handy for on-the-fly edits or complete sim overhauls. PixelVixen 18:42, 4 Aug 2013 (PST)

Aging Cheat[edit source]

We need to find the cheat that can turn off the aging. I wish Sunny was here to help. Amy Cotton 13:54, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

There's no need for a cheat to turn off aging, as you can disable it in the standard options screen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.203.141.151 (talkcontribs) 01:02, June 25, 2009 (UTC) - Sign your comments with ~~~~
you go to the options menu for the aging cheat! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.47.171.114 (talkcontribs) 04:35, July 15, 2009 (UTC) - Sign your comments with ~~~~
To make sims grow up early press crtl + shift + c and type in testingcheatsenabled true in live mode. Then shift and left click on the sim you want to grow up and left click on Trigger Age Transition. The simply watch them have their early birthday with a few seconds. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.182.197 (talkcontribs) 23:06, September 19, 2010 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

Lifetime Reward Points[edit source]

Ctrl-Click where highlighted.

{C}There is a way to cheat up your lifetime reward points without needed any mods. Enter the "testingCheatsenabled on" cheat in the Main Menu, and then Ctrl-Click on the right area of your Lifetime Reward tab. Like so.

I think it should be added to the main page, but don't feel like updated it myself right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikekearn (talkcontribs) - Sign your comments with ~~~~

I couldn't get this to work. Are you certain it was this and not just your sim being very happy?—ErzengelLichtes (Contribs) 00:55, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

It won't work for me. Plz send video like this. :( --86.177.23.223 07:48, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

I've changed the description for this cheat on the main page, the instructions were poor, and wrote in broken english —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.244.217.122 (talkcontribs) 21:43, September 7, 2010 (UTC) - Sign your comments with ~~~~

thank you for your help!!! it works in my game.

Nice[edit source]

Thanks! I wonder why most well known cheat websites don't have all of these, they are very helpful.--Cubs197 06:19, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

job cheat[edit source]

hi, i saw the cheat to force a job opportunity, however after i did the boolproptesting cheats enabled true, i didnt know where to shift click, it only says click on "the building that your sim works in" can you please tell me where that is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.132.148.38 (talkcontribs) 12:21, October 11, 2009 (UTC) - Sign your comments with ~~~~

It depends on what your Sim's job is. If he's a musician, it's the theatre, if he's in Law Enforcement it's the police station, et cetera. Basically it would be wherever your Sim goes to work. 58.172.41.7 00:19, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

Adventure scripting[edit source]

Just added the section on scripting for adventure items, i've managed to get a set of stairs to appear when a statue is pushed, the dive wells can also be quite easily cloned and linked to provide quick transportation, plus you can hide anything from unique relics, keystones, ancient coin piles and rare items in them by using the "Treasure component" option. Now all we need is floor and wall buttons and we should be able to make our own adventures.ҴїҫэӌҬӈәЅҥїʐʐɻє 17:10, December 17, 2009 (UTC)

freerealestate is NOT working.[edit source]

I have used testingcheatsenabled, but it doesn't work. I think we need some sort of Confirmed and Busted thingy. I'll go work on it now if you like. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Royace (talkcontribs) 13:16, August 16, 2010 (UTC) - Sign your comments with ~~~~

You have to do it by the editing the town with the edit town button to use freerealestate.-- Danny (Monster2821) (talk)(random page) 11:46, August 16, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. I noticed that I can enter the code in Game Setup screen, but it doesn't work. But nevermind. Royace forgot where his signature went. 15:28, August 16, 2010 (UTC)
You also should note that it will still list your household funds as having lost the ammount until you actually go and hit OK, where you will notice you still have the money. The other noticable difference is that you can actually buy houses that give you a negative ammount of household funds. (This is the easiest way to tell that it is enabled.) 184.58.97.253 (talk) 01:39, August 31, 2012 (UTC)

Buydebug[edit source]

The "buydebug on" cheats does not work for me, no I'm not an idiot I spelt it right and yes I typed "testingcheatsenabled true" first. 124.148.141.183 08:56, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

You have to use "testingcheatsenabled true" first.--Eduardog3000 01:19, December 20, 2010 (UTC)

It's not "buydebug on" it's just "buydebug" it works all the time for me ~Arata_Acka

If anyone reading this is not sure how to do it, then here's how. I'm assuming you'd have Ambitions and World Adventures installed. First you bring up the cheat window (shift, control, c) then type in the "testingCheatsEnabled true" thing. Then you go to buy mode, bring up the cheat box again and type in "buydebug" or "buydebug on" (the video I watched had the person type in buydebug but some people claim buydebug on works too). Then you go to where it groups things together (lighting, surfaces) and click the icon with the ? on it in the bottom right hand corner. Buy the fog emitter and place it somewhere then exit buy mode. Shift, control click on the fog emitter and it should bring up a box with space for you to type something in. Type in "snowfallingheavyday" or "rainfallingheavyday" and you get snow or rain where the fog emitter is.MakePastaNotWar 03:03, January 31, 2012 (UTC)

Cheats on PS3?[edit source]

So is there a way to do cheats on The Sims 3 on PS3? ~kay; mother to two new twins~ 19:29, May 10, 2011 (UTC)audrey&roland10 - 2:29pm CST 5/10/11

Okay scratch that so I realized its on a different cheat page. But on another website I learned about the mailbox and how you are supposed to be able to reset your sim. I tried to reset my sim (hit the command twice) but nothing happened. Do I have to wait until she wakes up the next morning or something? Or is something wrong?~kay; mother to two new twins~

Family Funds Cheat Not Working[edit source]

Can anyone tell me why the familyfunds cheat isn't working in my Sims 3 game? I have the latest patch installed and the following expansion packs:

  • Ambitions
  • World Adventures
  • Late Night
  • Generations.

I always use this with Sims 2 and want to use it in Sims 3 too because I create lots and want to be able to test the lots without putting the sim on another lot first and using the other money cheats.

Recommendations

I'm about to get the Sims 3 :seasons And would anyone recommend me any cheats that would be really helpful and show me the steps --69.140.179.208 (talk) 21:07, March 12, 2013 (UTC)Awesomeperson
