TheSims.com was the official home of the first The Sims game. It held information on all the expansions for this game and The Sims Bustin' Out.

It featured free downloads such as Maxis created tools, game updates and a few in-game items. When the site was in its prime, there were regular chats with people from Maxis; the old chat transcripts were archived. There was also a fansite directory, which was primarily of archival/reference interest, though some listed sites were still available at the time the site was taken down.

As of August 20, 2010, the site was no longer available. For a while, direct links to tools still appeared to work, and the forum (BBS) could still be accessed and read via a direct link. As of May 9, 2011, this is no longer the case. Much of the content which was available may still be available at SimEchoes.

At present, http://thesims.ea.com goes to a "front page" for the websites for The Sims 3, The Sims Medieval, console versions of The Sims 3, and The Sims 3 Store.
