The Octagon is a Residential lot in SimValley in The Sims Bustin' Out for console. It is a military base run by General Payne and Maxine Powers. It is likely a play on The Pentagon.

Missions:

There are four missions here: eliminate Senator Landgraab, shut down the hackers, destroy bio-weapons, and track down anti-war protesters. Since Malcolm is a Senator in the Octagon's operation he is to eliminated before he shuts it down. This can done this by unlocking and purchasing the Miss Gyrotic robot system and program for self-defense (the player's sim must be in a good mood in order to do this). Doing this will result in Miss. Gyrotic coming out of her "housing" and using a ball  of lightning attack on Malcolm. He will yell for the player to get it off of him. As a result, he'll wet himself and leave as he needs comfort and a well-needed shower. OR (if the player's sim is married) he/she can invite Malcolm over, build a room around him with no doors, windows or lights, have a baby, and put it in the room. Ignore its cries until Malcolm gives up. When he does: release him and IMMEDIATELY take care of the baby. In order to shut down the hackers visit Shiny Things Lab and steal whichever computer. A message will appear and giving proof that the computer was used illegally. Destroying bio-weapons results going to Goth Manor, paying a little visit to their greenhouse and destroying their incubator (but it can always repair it by decision). Once back at The Octagon either General or Maxine will inform that mission was just a hoax. Tracking down anti-war protesters should be the last mission. This can only be completed by being in the PARA-MILITARY career track. The player must visit Club Rubb and attack either Bing or Mona.

Additionally, General and Maxine want the Octagon to feel more homely than a cold-blooded war house. This can be done by adding homely furnishings, more lighting such as windows and house lamps and/or changing the wallpaper to a more comforting scene with the bright green wallpaper and fancy luxury wood flooring for the main room. The bedroom can have blue wallpaper with pine sol wood flooring as well as having the bathroom as Othello wallpaper and the best wood flooring. The outside can remain the same as long as the player wants it to remain that way.

The items received in completing missions are: 5,000 simoleons, fake parrot, abdominator, and the spartan lamp.
