In April 2010, an EA employee leaked information on Twitter that development of The Sims 4 had begun.[1] However, that is the only information we know about it. If the same amount of expansion packs are released for The Sims 3, based on the times of The Sims 2 expansion packs were released, The Sims 4 should be expected in 2012/2013.
