An '''underwater cave''' is a large cavern located at the bottom of ocean in the [[diving area]]s in ''[[The Sims 3: Island Paradise]]''. The underwater cave is one of the things Sims can interact with while [[Scuba Diving|scuba diving]]. Sims can explore the underwater cave for 90 to 60 minutes. While exploring the cave, there are 45% to 95% chance of finding something, depending on the Scuba Diving skill. It could be [[Metal collecting|metal]], [[Gem collecting|gem]], [[Shell collecting|shell]], message in a bottle, a magic gnome, or a scuba magic gnome. In addition, there's also 35% chance of finding an air pocket inside the cave.

The underwater cave works as a portal in the diving areas in [[Isla Paradiso]]. Some of the portals can only be accessed if Sims have sufficient Scuba Diving skill. Some portals will connect to another cave on the same diving area, while some may also send Sims to a particular spot.

While diving, Sims might encounter shark. They can hide inside a cave, but only one can enter at a time. In addition, there's a chance Sims might be attacked by an underwater monster when they exit the cave. The monster has huge tentacles. The chance is decreased with higher level of Scuba Diving skill, from 25% to 5%.
