Unicorn

A Unicorn.

Unicorn is a new creature added to the upcoming The Sims 3: Pets. It was announced for the first time on The Sims 3: Pets - Gamescom Trailer (Germany).

Unicorn is a mystical, magical creature that can be added into any family. There are two kinds of unicorn:

• Good - Good unicorns bless Sims and help them with gardening.
• Bad - Bad unicorns curse Sims, bring them bad luck and start fires.

Unicorns can not be sold for adoption but have long lives. They can mate and have foals with other unicorns, and even with horses. Unicorn Foals are also possible. Also it is possible that you can ride a unicorn, after befriending it. There will only be one wild unicorn in a world at a time. Once a sim adopts a unicorn, another wild unicorn will replace it. wild unicorns can be all black or white with a combination of colors on the feet, mane and tail.

Magical Abilities

• Unicorns have a magical energy, needed to use abilities. Each spell has a cost in energy, and if you don’t let enough time to your unicorn to recharge, he can get a negative moodlet for losing energy.

The maximum amount of magical energy is 60 magical points, and it takes 6 Sim-hours to fully recharge them. When the unicorn’s magical energy decreases to 30 magical points, he will get a neutral moodlet for Power Shortage. Also the Horn and the Eyes of the Unicorn glow when using abilities.

Ability Colours List

• Orange ( Fiery ) - When using Create Fire.
• Blue - When using Extinguish Fire and Bless a Sim.
• Green - When Blessing Flora.
• And more!

Unicorn Abilities List

• Teleport - Teleports the Unicorn to its desired location. Takes 5 magical points. ( Note: That if a Sim has mounted a Unicorn and it uses the teleport ability the Sim will teleport with the Unicorn as well. )
• Create Fire - Creates Fire on the desired location. Takes 15 magic points. ( Note: Before you can start another fire, you’ll have to wait for 10 Sim-minutes. )
• Extinguish Fire - Extinguish the choosen fire. Doesn’t need magical energy
• Bless a Sim - In order to bless a Sim, between the unicorn and the Sim there must be a relationship with at least 30LTR. In the right conditions, after a social interaction there is 50% chance for the unicorn to bless a Sim. Who receives unicorn's blessing moodlet and gets a positive multiplier in learning skills. Takes 30 Magical Points
• Curse a Sim - Between the unicorn and the Sim there must be a relation with -25LTR. If there are the right conditions, after a social interaction there is 75% chance for the unicorn to curse a Sim. Who receives unicorn's curse moodlet and gets a negative multiplier in learning skills. Takes 30 Magical Points.
• Curse Flora - Makes the selected plant die and wither. Takes 10 magical points.
• Bless Flora - Makes the selected plant grown with one level. After reaching the highest point of its growth and if you use Bless Flora again it will grown fruits / vegetables. Takes 20 magical points.

Trivia

• When unicorns run, they have a glowing, sparkly trail behind them.
• When not doing anything, eating hay or gazing at the ground a rainbow will shoot from their horn into the sky.
• Also when standing still a small plant bush will grow around their front right leg and will then turn into leaves as they are carried away by the wind.
• Unicorns are possibly the fastest creatures in The Sims series so far, because of their incredibly fast running ability that most pets don't have.
• The Sims may have a lifetime wish The Fairy Tale Finder which requires only to Adopt a unicorn
• Unicorns can be found easily at night by going onto the Map screen, and looking for an Arora Borealis floating above a lot.
• Unicorns can Try for a Foal with a Horse but the chance the child to be a Unicorn is 50%. While when the two parents are Unicorns the Foal will be 100% a Unicorn.
• Foal Unicorns dont have any access to their Magical Abilities. Exept when the run the magic sparkly trail is there. However they dont run fast as Adult Unicorns instead they run like normal Foals.
• Some Unicorns are Black and some are White. While some are also Grey.
• There is a 40% Chance a Unicorn will visit each time the time hits 08:00 PM.
• There is only One Unicorn per a Neighborhood. When the only unicorn is invited into the family and it accepts a new Unicorn will be created and will replace the old one.
• Unicorns may autonomously bless a plant if it's near one. They can also Revive a Death Flower Bush using Bless Flora after the bush has been harvested.
• Unicorns can bless not only Sims and Plants, but they can also bless other animals such as their own ( Unicorns )
