About me[edit source]

Hi, everyone...fellow simmers, I'm guessing! Just so that I don't seem so anonymous, I suppose I'll give a little information about myself. Enjoy!

  • I live in America's Historic Triangle! It's a pretty cool place to live. It's in Williamsburg, Virginia (in the United States, duh). It's called America's Historic Triangle because it's the three oldest towns in the country (even older than Philly or Boston): Jamestown (the oldest, where the British landed in 1607), Yorktown, and Williamsburg.
  • I'm a (relatively) normal American 16-year-old girl, who drives and texts and sleeps in and always wears jeans and says 'idk' and 'omg' on a constant basis :)
  • I'm African-American, with a little Native American mixed in. I'm not going to post a picture here, but I kind of look like a mix of the two: long black hair, high cheekbones, tan skin, almond shaped eyes, and a strong jawline. I'm very pretty :), but people often have trouble figuring out what race I am because of my features- for example, my eyes are shaped like those of Asians. It's not really a big deal, but sometimes people do outright ask what race I am. I've been told I look like I'm from Trinadad, the West Indies, like I'm Indian...I guess that's the best way to put it. I look Indian, but I'm not. There you go :).
  • I've been playing the Sims for maybe about 3 or 4 years, so I'm relatively new compared to some people. I've never played the Sims 1, but a friend introduced me to TS2 (actually 2), and now I play TS3. I have World Adventures, and I'm planning on getting Ambitions when it comes out. That way Mortimer can be both a mad scientist and an inventor! Mortimer and Bella are my favorite Sims, by the way.
  • I know a lot of people like to make up their families and worlds and whatnot, but I actually like playing Sunset Valley- I don't have much interest in making a world, and I'm only going to simify myself and my fam for my legacy challenge (or attempt at it, anyway). There are pretty much only 5 families I play: Landgraab, Alto, Goth, Bachelor, and Crumplebottom. Everybody else I don't care about. :)
  • Ummm...let's see...besides the Sims, which I love, there are a lot of things I love to do for fun. I love to read, especially classic books and Shakespeare (I don't like the gossipy teen pop books), I love art, I like photography, and movies, and traveling. I love music- I'm listening to music all the time- and I like hanging out with my friends. Sometimes I like shopping; usually it's boring. Oh, and now that I can drive, I drive all the time. I think I want a convertible so I can feel the wind through my hair...
  • Here's where I get nerdy: I like learning about a lot of things- not everything, but most things. That's probably why I read so much. And I'm into a lot of things you probably don't care about, like philosphy, evolutionary psychology, and sociology. I'll admit it, I can be brainy. Even with that nerdiness, I'm so lucky to have such really cool friends (who love me nonetheless), and I love parties!! Probably the best parties I went to were the elite ones at the Mariott in Times Square, in NYC last summer. I also loved my friend Rachel's sweet 16 :)
  • Above all, I love writing. And not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty darn good at it. In middle school, I was the editor-in-chief of the paper, and just this past year I was editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper. I really do love journalism. One day, I'd like to be CNN's chief international or politcal correspondent. That's my dream job! It would totally combine my loves of meeting new people, traveling, learning about new things and new places, and writing.
  • And speaking of that, the loftiest goal I entertain concerning that is working my way up to a leadership position. I've been to the CNN headquarters in Atlanta, and I can totally see myself in a power suit in that corner office!
  • And THAT has to do with my other interests- things you wouldn't really expect a 16 year old girl to care about. Part of my adoration of high-profile journalism has to do with my interests in business, politics, and world affairs. How many teenage girls do you know who know how stocks work and who are keeping up to date on the national health care, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", and Proposition 8 controversies?? :)
  • Okay, and some random facts: I always write in cursive. Always. A lot of my friends say it's a hassle or they can't even read it, but it's actually faster than writing in print. (and it's pretty). That's because since the letters are connected, you don't lift up your pen/pencil nearly as much. You can't really tell, though, until you get used to writing in cursive and then you switch to print. Then you notice how painfully slow it feels...
  • I'm left-handed. Yay for lefties!
  • I like being active. Actually, I love being active. During the summer I have more time to hike/bike trails and play tennis. I really like tennis, and last year I was on my school's team. I also like volleyball, but I suck at it. Remember how I said I like trying new things? Well, I want to check out yoga and pilates, too.
  • I'm really flexible! It's just one of those wierd things some people can do. I might be able to be a gymnast, if only I knew how to do a cartwheel or a flip (darn!). It's kind of creepy how flexible I am...let's leave it at that. :)
  • I'm a health nut. No joke. I am BIG on nutrition, and I'm always trying to eat a well-balanced diet every day. You reach for a cookie, I reach for a carrot. (okay, fine, not a carrot. I don't like carrots. I'd reach for an apple (: ). Of course, at parties or special events I'll have a piece of cake or something to not be a downer, but I really limit that kind of thing. I know a lot of people pity me for not eating the foods they love, but I pity them! Most people don't really know how grossly salty, sugary, greasy, or artificial something tastes until they get used to natural, more wholesome foods. And, for me, it's not some teen diet fad, either. It might sound cliche, but it truly is a way of life. I've been this way since I was 11 or 12, and I'm not going back anytime soon. :)
  • Random fact #435: I'm pretty decent at Spanish. Now I'm nowhere near fluent, but I can say quite a few things by now! At least, I know enough to read Spanish media(cual me encanta) or watch telenovela Latina and remotely comprehend what they're saying (they talk too fast!) And my friend in France, who I keep it touch with via e-mail, is going to help me learn French. But that's a whole different language...

Okay, es todo. Adios! Nada mas por ahora, hasta tenga algo mas que escribirte.

Viva Los Sims (3)!
