I mentioned in a previous blog post about a template that can be used to welcome new editors to the wiki (the {{welcome}} template). Well, I think that that template, although nice enough, is just too cookie-cutter to be used as a dynamic greeting. So I'm looking into desiging new alternative welcome templates. Yes, templates with an 's'. These would be sequentially numbered or lettered (such as {{welcomeA}}, {{welcomeB}}, {{welcomeC}}, etc or {{welcome1}}, {{welcome2}}, {{welcome3}}, etc.) and would have a basic design, but would differ in a few areas.

I'll see if there's any feedback on this before I start. But first, I'll show you an example, based on a couple welcome messages I've left in the past couple days.

To be frank, I don't much like the last sentence of that template, but I really didn't know what to say to close it out.

I'd also be interested in creating a "welcome-wagon" group of sorts; that is, frequent editors on this wiki who will look for new editors and grant them a welcoming wish. I know that when a person joins the Wiki they get a message automatically, but it seems way too impersonal since it's the same for everyone.
