Yes hello and you're reading this week's rendition of the news. Let's see what we've got for this week!
The Sims news
Moderately busy week this week, so I'll just list whatever I found.
- It was revealed that same-sex relationships were initially added into the series by a rogue engineer at Maxis.
- The Sims 3: Island Paradise continues to invade the UK PC gaming charts, along with five other entries from the series.
- The Sims 4 is coming to Gamescom later this month and will show off the first gameplay footage. Finally!
Wiki news
- Congratulations to our newest administrator, Pidgeoraptor7, who was promoted after a unanimously successful RfA!
- As well as the community discussions mentioned last week, we have a couple of new ones. Please stop on by and have your say in the future of The Sims Wiki. The threads are:
- Remember to check out our August 2013 Project of the Month if you haven't already. This month we're directly dealing with stub articles.
Poll of the week
As a lot of you may know, SimCity was released with day one DLC and harsh Origin integration. The always online aspect was dropped for TS4 but there's no doubt that TS4 will require Origin to some extent. The series has always used the EP/SP model for content distribution but if SimCity is anything to go by, that could all change for TS4.
I'd like for them to use the Season Pass system, as seen in other games such as Borderlands 2, CoD: Black Ops 2 and BioShock Infinite, but as EA are profiting from charging the same price as the base game for each EP, I doubt that will ever happen.
That's all for this week. Comment, vote, whatever. Enjoy! Lost Labyrinth • (c) • (b) 10:54, August 8, 2013 (UTC)
