All this time, I've always been sarcastic and given snarky comments about The Sims 4, but don't get me wrong, I still looked forward to it, remained optimistic, and hoped for the playable features to stay. Some people think that the deal breaker is either Create a Style, toddler, pool, or open world. When I first heard that there was no open world, I was concerned that there wouldn't be story progression. I don't want to go back to The Sims 2 play style. The Sim Gurus assured us that other Sims will still simulate while we're not playing them, so it's great! So open world is gone, but that's okay!

Here lies my hopes and dreams.

The Sims 4 will not have story progression.

The game will just "delete" the entire family once they're too old. Are they stupid or what? Do these families fail to breed to keep their generation living??? They said the rotational gameplay like The Sims 2 was optional and you can switch to The Sims 3 non-rotational gameplay if you prefer it that way. It's even possible to play rotational since you can disable aging of other families. But if you expect to play non-rotational, all other families will just... disappear if you don't ever play them. And this also means you're the only children in the world. And this also means your extended family members from other family households will not continue to breed so your only family in the family tree is the only one to survive.

I don't even think it's remotely possible for modders to make a custom story progression because the feature itself is not in the game.

This is just stupid. It's a deal breaker. Count me out of this game. Reaallly out. I'm so done with it. DX EA is not getting any rupiahs from me. The fact that I still love The Sims series and this Wiki makes me feel... I don't know, hurt maybe, because I can't get away from The Sims 4 at all. Maybe in the end it will be turning tides like I once had with The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, but I'm really skeptical about it and it's almost hopeless. Nikel Talk Vote! 13:43, July 2, 2014 (UTC)
