Your recent actions[edit source]

I am sorry to hear about your problem. However, complaining about it in several articles is vandalism, and those edits have been reverted. Also, profanity is not allowed here, and IMO, replacing one letter in a word with a "*" doesn't make it not-profanity. Dharden 14:49, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Response[edit source]

The foreign-language links on some pages are links to versions of that page on other versions of the wiki that are in other languages. It's the same sort of thing that Wikipedia does, only on a smaller scale.

Sorry, but I'm not sure why you're having problems with Bottom Summerdream dying after growing up. My inclination is to suspect misbehaving custom content, such as a hack or mod, but I don't know for sure. What you're calling "death by phone" is a new one on me. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Re: Template[edit source]

First, there's no need to include "Template:", when you use a template, though it doesn't seem to make a difference. "Template:" is used when referring to a template because it can link to the template's page.

The Notification template is fairly new, and I haven't really gotten a handle on it yet. However, I do know that it's a multi-purpose template. It's not enough to use

{{Notification}} or {{Template:Notification}}

because you need to say what type of notification you want it to be, and you have to include a specific message. For example:

{{Notification
|warning = y
|1 = Resurrecting him has been known to cause corruption.
}}

See Template:Notification for more information.

Resurrection, "death by phone", and foreign links[edit source]

There's a Resurrecting tips article that you might want to check out. One of the tips is to move the graves of Olive's victims to a community lot before trying to resurrect them. I have not tried that, and can't vouch for it. I'm just passing it along for whatever it might be worth.

I believe you about "death by phone". It's just something I'd never heard of before, and I have no idea what could cause it, especially in a hack-free game. I haven't heard anything about Bottom being glitched either. (I'll admit that I don't play Veronaville, as I don't care for the concept behind it.) I'm as baffled by this as you are.

Content on this wiki should be in English. The foreign Sims wikis are separate, and many of them will have links to Sims wikis in other languages - including English. In short, adding, say, French or Norwegian content to an article here is wrong. Adding an interwiki link to a version of the article on the French or Norwegian Sims wikis is OK. nocorruptdeath and DNA[edit source]

nocorruptdeath isn't a cheat. It's a mod from More Awesome Than You! that's intended to keep corrupt death memories from forming. As with any hack or mod, you need to be sure you have the correct version for the latest expansion pack you have installed. There's always chance of something unpredictable happening, but that said, the mods at More Awesome Than You! can be trusted.

Corrupt or missing DNA may have an effect if the Sim reproduces. I don't think it would make a Sim un-resurrectable. Let me think on it for a while. Dharden 02:36, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Re: sims 3[edit source]

First, you really should start signing the messages you leave on talk pages. You can do this by using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, or by using the signature button. That's next to the W-and-"no"-symbol button.

In The Sims 2, Sims get memories for the deaths of family members and relatives, and for deaths they witness. What can happen is that a Sim can get a duplicate memory of a death, but with no subject, and these memories can spread through gossip. The "nocorruptdeath" fix is designed to keep those duplicate memories from forming.

As for the doll, here are some links I was able to find:

Hope they help. Dharden 14:28, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

An object can have a bug or glitch in its code that doesn't affect the way it looks. I don't know what would - or might - happen after buying the doll. However the phrase "At Your Own Risk" would seem to apply. Dharden 19:05, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Ophelia and Johnny[edit source]

If they're both missing some or all of their DNA, having them have a baby is probably not a good idea. at best, I'd think the results would be unpredictable. It seems odd that they'd have missing DNA, though. Give me a chance to check in my Strangetown. (As for now, sleep-depped. Need a nap.) Dharden 19:25, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

I checked, and in my Strangetown, Johnny is not missing all DNA, but both he and Ophelia are missing some. However, bits of missing DNA seem to be common among the pre-made Sims in Strangetown. Dharden 22:36, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Influence, etc.[edit source]

The "met myself" memories are a known problem. They occur when Sims do certain things, and (AFAIK) are more annoying than harmful.

Influence is something I don't use very much, but the only problem I've had is that Sims influenced to cook keep wanting to make a fish meal, even when there's no fish in the fridge. Influence doesn't have much of a relationship requirement. If the relationship is at all positive, or even if it's 0/0, it'll be accepted. According to the Prima guide for University it can be used on - or by - Sims from toddlers on up. (I have never tried Influencing a toddler or child.) It does look like it's not working right for you, though.

As I read the article, the glitch in Liam O'Dourke's Lifetime Wish is that it varies from game to game. It should always be the same, but it isn't. It doesn't sound like there's a problem with the wish itself, once he gets one. Dharden 23:13, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Re: SimPe[edit source]

You can remove them, and it should be safe to do so as long as they haven't spread in gossip. The ffsdebugger (or BatBox) from MATY has an option to remove gossip memories.

A "realistic skin" can be anything from a skintone that looks more like real skin to one that's more or less ... anatomically correct. Generally speaking, a custom skintone, regardless of how realistic it is, would have to apply to all life stages so that Sims created with it would keep it throughout their lives. This does not necessarily mean that a more, er, "detailed" skintone would apply all the "details" to all life stages. It's going to depend on the specific skin. Dharden 00:05, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
