I didn't exactly recall when or how the previous games were announced / hinted / rumored, as I started playing The Sims 2 since around Apartment Life, and began to put more attention since Ambitions. ~~== News blogs ==~~ I do think they are a bit rushed in The Sims 4. :/ It only took a few days since their hint to the "big announcement" until their official announcement. They even planned the game some time next year, though it might even be at the end of that year. You could use the printscreen key to clip the screen, or use programs like Fraps.
