Vampires is a new game mechanic added onto The Sims 2: Nightlife which introduces vampires as both playable and non-playable creatures to The Sims 2 series.
Becoming a Vampire
To become a vampire your Sim must befriending a "Count" or "Countessa" (also known as "Grand Vampires) who hang out in the downtown area at night. The player gets one of these Grand Vampires to bite the Sim therein turning the Sim into a vampire. When a Sim turns into a vampire they receive the characteristic sharp teeth, red eyes and pale skin.
Features
There are several added features that differentiate a vampire Sim from an average Sim. For instance, a vampire Sim will die if exposed to sunlight. During the game a vampire Sim stays in his/her coffin. The Needs of a vampire sim do not decay during the night. This is meant to give them plenty of opportunity to party Downtown, an added feature of The Sims 2: Nightlife, all night. Another additional feature is the fact that the vampire Sims are immortal and will never grow older than the day they were bitten. Lastly, Vampires also have no reflection in mirrors, though they will show up in photographs.
Re-Normalization
If at any time the Sim grows tired of the vampire life, they can call the Gypsy Matchmaker and receive a potion that changes them back to normal, allowing them to once again travel during the day without dying.
