Lifetime Aspiration Benefits become available to Sims as they fill their Lifetime aspiration bar. There are four areas in which these can be spent: motives, work, primary aspiration and secondary aspiration. Benefits must be gained in order per category. Children can only spend points in the motives and work categories until they choose a primary aspiration when they become a teen.

Benefits which slow motive decay are cumulative. For example, if a Sim has the first benefit in the Motives category, and is given the first benefit for the Knowledge aspiration, his or her Social motive will decay even slower.

Motives

Work

  1. Life of Luxury - Gain vacation days faster
  2. Business Instinct - Career Chance cards are right 80% of the time
  3. Friends in High Places - Family Friend requirements for promotions are reduced by one
  4. Plead for Job - Chance to plead to the boss via the phone for 24 hours after being fired

Primary Aspirations

Knowledge

  1. Slower Motive Decay - Social and Fun
  2. Impart Knowledge - Teach another Sim a skill that is known well. This also increases the Sims' Social motive and the relationship between the two Sims. A Sim can ask another Sim with this benefit to impart knowledge.
  3. Eureka! - When a Sim with this benefit is building a skill, such as cooking, he or she will occasionally say something like "Eureka, the nuances of the cooking skill have become clearer to me," and will receive a sudden bonus to the skill. This can quickly boost the skill to the next level or make an almost empty learning bar almost full. While this benefit does not seem to increase a Sim's learning rate, it appears that each animation cycle spent in skill-building carries a chance of a "Eureka!" moment.
  4. Summon Aliens - Attempt to hitch a ride on passing UFOs. Male, adult Sims more than five days away from becoming elders will get pregnant.

Family

  1. Grandma's Comfort Soup - Cook a soup that increases comfort and cures any illness
  2. Slower Motive Decay - Fun and Comfort
  3. Plead with the Social Worker- Option to plead with the social worker if an infant is being taken away.
  4. Super Fertility - Greatly increased chance of giving birth to twins

Popularity

  1. Hospitality - More likely to bring friends home from work or school
  2. Slower Motive Decay - Bladder and Energy
  3. 3-way Calling- Call 2 Sims at a time
  4. Fast Friends - Larger positive relationship gains

Fortune

  1. Skilled Negotiator - The Sim will receive 1.5 times the normal salary for his or her job. This will not change the salary shown in the career tab, but the adjusted salary will be shown when the Sim is paid. This does not appear to affect what the Sim will receive for a paid vacation day.
  2. Slower Motive Decay - Fun and Comfort
  3. Financial Advisor - Sims use the computer and give financial advice for cash.
  4. Investing - Each afternoon, the Sim has a chance to gain or lose family funds. Other members of the household who have this benefit increase the Sim's chances of making a profit.

Romance

  1. Massive attraction - boost in Chemistry
  2. Slower Motive Decay - Hygiene and Energy
  3. Local legend - Sims with preferred Turn-ons walk by more often
  4. Smooth talk - A 90% chance a cheating Sim will reunite with loved ones faster. (this can be used on any Sim, if it succeeds the relationship bar will increase by about 10 points and the Sim will stop being furious at you).

Pleasure

  1. Fast Metabolism - Burn fat faster
  2. Slower Motive Decay - Bladder and Energy
  3. Write Restaurant Guide - A new interaction accessible on any computer. Writing a guide takes a few hours of work, after which the guide is sold for upwards of a thousand Simoleons, depending on the author's Cooking skill and Cuisine enthusiasm. The best guides make around three to four thousand Simoleons. Similar to writing novels, but much faster.
  4. Rowdy Folk Song- Sing folk song.

Grilled Cheese

  1. Bottomless Stomach - Gain fat slower
  2. Slower Motive Decay - Bladder
  3. Paint Grilled Cheese - Allows Sim to paint Grilled Cheese sandwiches on the Painting Easel.
  4. Conjure Grilled Cheese - Create an individual grilled cheese sandwich, which the Sim will gobble instantly. Conjuring grilled cheese drains comfort and energy.
