The bass is a musical instrument that can be played by Sims. It was first introduced along with the guitar and drums in The Sims 2: University expansion pack. It is not available in The Sims 3 base game, but it is set to be re-introduced in The Sims 3: Late Night expansion pack.

Under Development
This article or section is about a title, or contains information about a feature or character from a title, that is either under development or yet to be released. Features that are mentioned here may be radically different in the finished product, or excluded altogether. All statements must have a valid source or they will be deleted. See Help:Cite for information on how to cite your sources properly.

The bass in The Sims 2 can be played by Sims aged teen or older, and playing it will boost creativity skill. As the creativity skill improves, the quality of a Sim's playing improves as well, and highly skilled players may perform tricks or complicated moves while playing. The bass can be played alongside other musical instruments - the guitar, piano and drums - and performing on the bass can generate tips from other Sims; the higher the creativity skill level of the Sim playing, the higher possible tips will become (up to §100 per tip).

It was not included in The Sims 3 or in its first two expansion packs or stuff packs, but the bass was confirmed to be included in The Sims 3: Late Night, along with a related Bass Skill. The confirmation was made on July 29, 2010 during a Twitter interview with Grant Rodiek, one of the game's producers; the bass is set to return, along with the Piano and Drums[1].
