Bassanio Monty was the father of Valentine Monty, husband of Portia Monty, grandfather to Patrizio Monty and great grandfather to his children. According to his genetics his hair was red before it turned grey.
Bassanio is named after a character in Shakespeare's play The Merchant of Venice, whose wife is also named Portia.
