Bobby Jones is part of the Maxis-made Jones Family, which could be downloaded from the official website for The Sims. He is the son of Edward and Barbara Jones. Bobby has black hair even though neither of his parents do, but since there are no genetics in The Sims, this is not unusual. Bobby bears a striking resemblance to Alexander Goth.

Bobby shares his name with a deceased character named Robert Jones in The Sims 3 downloadable town Roaring Heights ("Bobby" being a nickname for "Robert"). Robert's (probable) son, Edward Jones, shares his name with Bobby's father, and it is possible, though unlikely, that the two are meant to be the same person. If this is the case, then Bobby could have been named in honour of his late grandfather; the repetition of both names might be seen to strengthen the case for some connection between the two families. However, this is merely speculation.
