The Sims 3 The Sims 4

Buy is a cheat code present in The Sims 3 and The Sims 4. It allows the player to buy objects not normally available in buy mode (or build mode, in The Sims 4) mode catalog, such as debugging objects, room markers, shell buildings, etc.

The Sims 3

To activate the cheat, the player must first enable the testing cheats by opening the cheat box and typing in testingcheatsenabled true. They then must type buybug on. A box with a question mark will appear in the buy mode catalog that contains the debugging objects. To turn it off, enter in the same cheat and instead of on, type in off. The same rule applies to The Sims 4.

The Sims 4

Some debug objects have names, but most are just called "**DEBUG**".

Like The Sims 3, the player must enable the testing cheats before turning on the cheat. The code to enable the cheat is bb.showhiddenobjects. Many hidden objects can then be found throughout the catalog. However, to access all of them, the player must type "debug" into the search box, and click any of the "**DEBUG**" names that show up.

Patch 82 added a second cheat, called bb.showliveeditobjects. It allows players to build using almost any decorative world object, such as plants that are not available in the catalog, full-sized cars, or building shells.
