Cheerful is an emotional trait that was introduced in The Sims 4. This trait conflicts with Gloomy.

Cheerful Sims randomly get a "Feeling Happy" (Happy +1, 4 hours) moodlet, which amplifies any other positive Emotion they may have at that time.
