Chickens are added in ''[[The Sims 4: Cottage Living]]''. They can be purchased using the Chicken Coop object in build mode, and Sims can keep a maximum of eight chickens. When fed, they produce eggs that can be collected for use in [[Cooking (The Sims 4)|cooking]] and [[baking]]. Sims can also hatch new chickens for the coop, if they have a hen and a rooster in the coop available to breed.

A lot with the fox lot challenge enabled will cause wild [[fox]]es to show up and try to steal eggs from coops. Foxes can be warded off by owning a [[llama]], which will spit on them and scare them away.
