Create a Pet is the section of Create a Sim where the player creates pets in The Sims 2: Pets and The Sims 3: Pets. Unlike The Sims: Unleashed where the player is only able to buy a pet and choose from a few breeds, The Sims 2: Pets and The Sims 3: Pets allows the player to create their own from preset breeds or create a completely new one.

The Sims 2

In The Sims 2, the Create-A-Pet feature is part of the CAS. An adult or elder dog or cat can be added to the family. There are many options to customize the appearance of a pet as well as predefined breeds. A pet's personality and names can then be chosen. The player can also unlock many new coats and collars through in-game experiences.

The Sims 3

In The Sims 3: Pets, dogs, cats, and horses can be created in C.A.P which stands for create a pet. Unlike the sims 2 in the sims 3 now you can create your own pet in a much more advanced way. In C.A.P you are only allowed to create adult pets and elders which means puppies, kittens, and foals cannot be created in C.A.P. In the sims 3 pets the background for creating your pet has more of a barn appearence than the sims 2 which was just a simple house. In the sims 3 pets you can show your pet and even create your pet from home or create your very own breed!
