Dancing is an activity that a Sim can do by oneself or with a partner. Dancing is also a secret skill.

Dancing with a partner builds skill in dancing. Although the player can't see what level the Sim is on, they may be able to tell by what moves the Sim does.

The scholarship for dancing with The Sims 2: University requires level 8.

Dancing increases enthusiasm in the The Sims 2: FreeTime hobby Music and Dance.

There are several ways a Sim can engage in this interaction:

  1. Choose "Dance. . . <dance>" on an Audio object.
  2. Click on the selected Sim and choose "Dance . . .<dance>"
  3. Click on a Sim and choose "Dance Together", "Let's do the Smustle", "Entertain . . . Bust a Move", "Slow Dance" or "Dance. . . <dance>"
  4. When a Sim nearby is dancing the Smustle, the player can click on them and the option "Join Smustle" should appear.
