Even though this Darleen wears a different outfit, as shown by her hidden SimPE thumbnail, by the looks of her hairstyle, she was the Darleen featured in the Dreamer family's storytelling images. This Darleen Dreamer was the original, because she was created with the rest of the Dreamer family while her counterpart was created afterwards.
In SimPE she still recognizes Darren and Dirk as family. As she was created with the rest of her living family, it is possible she was meant to be playable.
