Discovery Quest (The Sims FreePlay)

Discovery Quests in The Sims FreePlay are quests that one can complete at the same time as main quests. They usually unlock by building a place or finding a person to start. There are some quests that can be done in time-limit. Note that the discovery quest must be done one at a time.

"Book of Spells" Quest

This quest starts after you built the Sorcerous Supplies from level 8 onwards. After completing this quest, you will unlock spell casting hobby. 7-day time limit to unlock a pet dragon.

  • Buy a crystal ball (S 5000) from Sorcerous supplies
  • Place a crystal ball in a house (you will find it in the decorations section of your inventory once you have brought it)
  • Look into the crystal ball- 30 seconds
  • Gaze into the crystal ball- 30 seconds
  • Pick up the magic wand- 2 seconds
  • Unlock the door to the wand room: Randomly Rearrange- 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Pick up the magic wand- 30 seconds (magic wand podium- pictured below)
  • Use a crystal ball to go home- 1 second
  • Act casual on a couch- 10 hours
  • Place the magic wand podium in your house (from hobbies section of inventory, pictured below)
  • Cast random spells- 13 hours 30 minutes (using magic wand podium)
  • Talk to a sim about magic wands- 8 minutes (click on another sim)
  • Use the magic wand (cast random spell on magic wand podium)- 13 hours 30 minutes
  • Watch emergency broadcast- 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Visit the park
  • Call a sim to the park
  • Formulate a plan- 6 hours 10 minutes (click on a mummy)
  • Search for a mummy removal spell on the Internet- 13 hours 30 minutes
  • Perform anti-mummies spell on a magic wand (podium)- 7 minutes
  • Use the crystal ball to visit the wizards house- 1 second
  • Read weird world of wands at wizards house- 22 hours 30 minutes
  • Explain to the wizard- 8 hours 12 minutes
  • Use the crystal ball to go back home- 1 second
  • Call a sim to the park
  • Talk to the wizard- 1 minute 40 seconds
  • Distract a mummy- 16 hours 30 minutes
  • Talk to wizard about magic spells- 3 minutes
  • Distract a mummy- 16 hours 30 minutes
  • Joke around with the wizard- 10 seconds
  • Distract a mummy- 16 hours 30 minutes
  • Pack up the magic wand podium- 30 seconds
  • Talk to the wizard- 3 hours 10 minutes (he should appear at the house you are in)

Approximate time to finish: 6 days 1 hour 23 minutes 55 seconds

"Saved by the Spell" Quest

This quest is unlocked at level 8. It starts after you completed the Book of Spells Quest and find the wizard in the park After completing this quest, you will unlock potion brewing hobby. 7-day time limit to unlock a wizard cottage.

  • Talk to the Wizard- 1 minute
  • Examine the crystal ball (next to the wizard in the park)
  • Ask the Wizard- 1 minute (in park)
  • Read real world magic- 1 hour (bookshelf)
  • Invite a sim to a dinner party- 3 hours 15 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
  • Send two sims to the park.
  • Explain about imagination- 5 hours 15 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
  • Have two sims sit at the dinner table- 5 minutes (in park) GLITCH- if your sims are unable to sit at the table, leave the park and go back to your sims need to sit down quickly before the other characters can.
  • Check in with the Wizard- 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Dream of magic- 19 hours (bed)
  • Tell a sim about dream- 5 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
  • Dance wildly in the rain- 12 hours 15 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
  • Have two sims kiss in the rain- 1 minute (select interaction between two sims)
  • Talk to the Wizard-15 minutes (at a sims house)
  • Talk to the werewolf- 5 hours 15 minutes (park)
  • Think about the werewolf- 19 hours (seat)
  • Record a video apology- 5 minutes (werewolf)
  • Upload video apology- 4 hours (computer)
  • Show the dates response- 12 hours 15 minutes (werewolf)
  • High five the werewolf- 3 seconds
  • Check in with the wizard- 3 hours 15 minutes (park)
  • Think about the origin of magic- 19 hours (seat)
  • Tell the wizard about real magic- 12 hours 15 minutes (park)
  • Use the crystal ball again
  • High five the wizard- 1 second (wizards cottage)
  • Leave the Wizards cottage (using the simtracker)

Approximate time to finish: 4 days 21 hours 33 minutes 4 seconds

"A Dance To Remember" Quest

This quest is unlocked at level 8/9. It starts after you clicked the salsa dancers (next to the thinking man statue) at the park. After completing this quest, you will unlock salsa dancing hobby. 7-day time limit to unlock rugs for houses.

  • Watch the dancing couple - 2 minutes
  • Enthuse to a sim about dancers- 12 seconds
  • Talk to the dancers- 15 minutes
  • Take the car at the park to the villa
  • Explore the villa - 2 hours
  • Have 5 sims at the villa (use whistle at your sim tracker)
  • Eat Hors D’oeures- 10 minutes (on the table in the villa)
  • Have 5 sims cheer on the fantasias- 2 minutes
  • Have 2 pairs of Sims (2 pairs = 4 Sims) - 10 hours 30 minutes
  • Thank the fantasia’s- 1 minute (select interaction with one of them)
  • Have all sims leave the villa (click on the car to drive home)
  • Have a sim hibernate- 19 hours (can be started early)
  • Salsa dance to a stereo- 16 seconds
  • Read spicy salsa from a bookshelf- 7 hours 30 minutes
  • Place an ad on a computer- 12 minute
  • Grow pumpkins- 1 day (can be started early)
  • Check email- 36 seconds (on a computer)
  • Send a sim to the park
  • Wait excitedly on a bench in the park- 8 hours 30 minutes
  • Assess dancers- dancer 1: 5 seconds dancer 2: 6 seconds dancer 3: 8 seconds
  • Have 2 sims at the park
  • Be hilarious to another sim- 4 hours 30 minutes (select interaction between two sims)
  • Dance with another sim- 3 seconds (interaction again)
  • Have 2 sims watch a movie marathon- 8 hours
  • Have 2 sims play a long chess game- 2 hours 30 minutes (click on chess board in park)
  • Have 2 sims eat a meal- 10 minutes (cooking hobby, cook cheese on toast- 1 minute then select call to meal
  • Have 2 sims dance to a stereo
  • Practice dancing together - 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Have a sim hibernate - 19 hours
  • Send a sim to the park
  • Investigate meowing - 5 minutes
  • Rescue cat from under the bridge - 10 hours 30 minutes
  • Have 2 sims at the villa- using the car at the park
  • Apologize for being late- 12 seconds (click on one of the fantasias)
  • Dance at the villa- 4 hours 30 minutes (sim one clicks on jukebox and selects wait for sim, sim two clicks on jukebox and selects dance with partner)
  • Have all sims leave the villa

Approximate time to finish: 5 days 2 hours 58 minutes 38 seconds

"Nanny Knows Best" Quest

This quest is unlocked at level 10. It starts after you clicked the nanny in the park. After completing this quest, you will unlock musical expressions hobby. 5-day time limit to unlock infant overalls.
