The Entertainer is introduced in House Party. Buying the large cake under Miscellaneous and clicking on the command, 'Buy Male/Female Entertainer' will cause an entertainer to emerge from within and start entertaining the guests. Be careful, though, because the entertainer might stir some jealousy from other people at the party. Entertainers may kiss other Sims at the end of their performance, but playable Sims cannot kiss (or interact in anyway) with entertainers. If a child is present in the room where an entertainer is performing, the child will be shooed out of the room by the adults present.

The Sims 3: Generations
Entertainers, also known as Party Dancers, are also found in The Sims 3: Generations. They cannot be autonomously hired, but they always show up in either bachelor or bachelorette parties; depending on the sexual orientation of the host. They are able to spray Nectar on other Sims or dance with the guests. Entertainers may also be hired by one of the guests at the party.

There are three types of dancers: Regulars, Military, and Police. The women wear skimpy tops and bottoms depending on the type while men are topless and wear tight-fitting shorts depending on the theme. The regulars arrive in pink limousines, the military in simple black cars, and the police in a loud police car. They notify their arrival, enter the same room as the celebrant, turn off any music being played, place their small music players on a flat surface, and dance for a few minutes with a spotlight on them. Most guests stop to watch until it is over. Sometimes, the dancers stay to party, but it is possible to ask them to leave. Kissing the dancer during the party or doing anything romantic may leave a good memory, but there is a chance that the celebrant's fiancé may find out and be angry.
