The Fame career track is found in the "Superstar" expansion pack for The Sims.

With famous friends, what matters isn't how many a Sim has, but how famous they are - their "starpower". If you are more famous than certain Sims, others will come to your house and give you fruitcake. Fame also allows you to have fans. If you have Makin' Magic you can use the Price of Fame charm to give you 4.5 stars. It requires diamond dust, black roses that the obsessed fan leaves, and beeswax, but if you use it with a starpower above 3.00, several obsessed fanse will appear.
