Biography

James Callaghan was one of the most prolific Sims of Aurora Skies in his early stages of life and whom eventually brought the city into a new revolution at the turn of the 22nd century. He was married once to Jessica Callaghan (née McIntyre), but their marriage ended in tragedy when the two of them broke up after a short ignorant courtship. They had their children John and Annie together, respectively.

Childhood

James was born to Kevin Callaghan and Sophia Carnmal in SimCity's industrial era along with his brother Gordon. James and his brother never got the chance to meet their father because of his mysterious death while their mother was still pregnant with Gordon and his brother. James and his brother Gordon weren't particularly good friends throughout their childhood which eventually led to their rivarly later in life. Their school performances were substantial throughout their years as a Child, but Gordon's performance ended in a F while he became a Teen, unlike James'.

Unfortunately, once the two brothers became teens, Gordon's grades started slipping and started to think that all was lost, his life included. James on the other hand didn't want to waste his academic future on the luxury of life and joy. Later as teens, however, they met a new classmate whose appearance was so easy-on-the-eyes. They both fell in love with the same girl, and that started to create a big rivalry between the siblings. They refused to speak to one another after their rivalry started, and James regretted that the rivalry even started when something terrible happened.

On the next day after the siblings' rivalry started, James was invited to attend to one of his teacher's parties and left the house on the same day. Once James had left for his teacher's party, Sophia started preparing the regular dinner meal for her other son. Suddenly her phone started ringing, and got hung up in the conversation, and something started to happen in the kitchen. A big fire broke out while Sophia was on the phone, and Gordon tried to extinguish the fire, but any attmept was in vain. Due to the family's poor economy status, they couldn't afford a fire alarm which led to the destruction of the house, including the lives of Gordon and Sophia while James still had the attendance at the party. When James left the party and drove back home, the devastating look of his childhood home in flames was the worst memory James could ever experience. He was all alone in the world after his brother and mother's death in the fire. At the death of his closest relatives, James was forced to live at his uncle and aunt's home throughout the last days of his teenage years.

Adulthood

After his uncle and aunt's inevitable demise, James moved out of his house and started looking for a job in the education career at the local elementary school to try and teach children important factual knowledge. He quickly understood the low pay as a teacher at the time, but wanted to give the profession a try anyway. The pay wasn't cutting it for his everyday needs, so James had a few miserable days trying to progress in life.

When he finally got the time to relax and have a few days off from work, he became re-acquainted with his childhood romance, Jessica, and they started going out on dates as their "new relationship" was progressing. Fortunately for James and his life, Jessica later became the saviour of his life and managed to de-stress him from his work after they got married later in their lives. As the years passed and James got a grip on his vocational path, Jessica bore him two children, John and Annie, after having a long and healthy courtship together.

3 years after his children were born, something strange started to happen between James and his wife. Her personality had changed from that of a kind and family-oriented woman, to that of a hot-headed, yet mean Sim. He constantly wanted to get to know what had happened to her and why her personality had changed, but everytime he brought up the subject, he received an aggressive response from her. James began to have enough of his wife's personality, so he followed her one night while she went out at the town. She was visiting an old man. It was Ryan Cooch, his father's brother, or his uncle that was, who he had never met. Callaghan became curious as to why she wanted to give him a visit, so he peeked in one of the house's windows. Suddenly he saw something he would regret later in his life. His uncle and his wife had a relationship with eachother. He slowly continued to watch them through the window, and started to become shocked. James had enough of her betrayal and went home shortly after spotting them. Once his wife got back home the next morning, she gave him her pointless excuses telling him she was on an "important bussiness trip". Callaghan confronted her of what he had experienced, and she confessed that she had been having an affair with his uncle. After listening to his wife's confessions, he didn't hesitate asking for a divorce. His wife begged him in giving her a second chance, but it was over. Unfortunately for his wife, James broke up with her, and kicked her out of his home, leaving their children behind in his custody.

After 7 great, productive years as a highly-respected, loving teacher and professor, James Callaghan reached the top of his career and became a District Superintendent. John and Annie was about to start their first day at school, but were begging their father not to let them go. They were afraid of the new, scary teachers at their father's school. Their father told them not to worry, telling them that the teachers were just good colleagues of his. The children accepted their father's word and took the bus to their father's workplace the same morning. James had been struggling for years with depression after he found out about his ex-wife's affair all those years ago, and were constantly given medication from his trustful doctor. He had also experienced nightmares of past childhood experiences in his dreams, including the deaths of his mother and brother, and his wife's affair with his uncle.

The next morning he received a phone call from a local police officer in town. James' ex-wife had made up a story to falsely incriminate him with a few evidence she had planted. The officer refused to listen to reason on the phone, and was already on his way to arrest James for a crime he had not commited. James knew there was neither a point in running nor hiding from the law enforcement. When the officer knocked at Callaghan's door, James opened it up, but suddenly he became shocked at the person who was standing outside. It was not the officer that was coming to arrest him.

Fate

It is still very unclear what happened to James. He died by drowning, and that may be the mysterious type of death his father also died by before he James was born.

Trivia

  • It is unclear what happened to James' father, Kevin, and what caused his myserious death. There is a chance that he was arrested due to his position in the Criminal career, but that's not how he died.
  • The phone call that Sophia picked up was not a coincidence. It was planned by someone else to distract her from the meal she was cooking.
  • James mysteriously died, not unlike his father. There might have been a connection between their deaths that cannot be explained at this point.
  • James re-married after he divorced his first wife, which wasn't stated in this Fanon because it is too irrelevant to display it.
  • This Sim's appearance and name isn't the same as the one in-game. The Sim's name is James Felix Carnmal and can be found and downloaded off the exchange.
