Juliana Romanelli
Biography
Juliana provides the caring counterpart to her crime boss husband. She's not afraid to get down and dirty though.
Juliana married Luigi when they were both young. Despite what is thought, she married Luigi because she actually loved him. She never had to work a day of her life, her husband making plenty of money as a local crime boss. Despite their wealth, she still cooked and cleaned, not hiring help. She tried her best to teach her children to be independent, and to not marry for money, although the lessons never seemed to work on Neva. She was proud to see Iva marry an Italian farmer and move to Riverview, but was disappointed when Neva married 'that wealthy businessman'. She loved her grandchildren, and was incredibly angry at Neva for sending Andrew to boarding school. She also hated her sister-in-law with a burning passion.
Juliana was the owner of a chubby little Bichon Frise named Fresno, a dog loved by many but still fit in to the Mafia image-- he was aggressive and loyal. The dog loved and respected her, as she did he. She loved to play the piano as well as to cook.
Juliana lived as a pleasant Mafia wife, and worked as a chef, in the family's old and grand family mansion within the hills of Bridgeport. After Luigi died, Juliana shredded any of his documents from his time as a mafia boss. With her husband dying, the position of Don of the Bridgeport Mafia was left vacant. Juliana, still well connected to the Mafia, took up the slack until a successor was chosen and spent a lot of time getting down and doing the dirty work by threatening cops in the pleasant grandmotherly way, shaking down a local bar owner to receive payment for "protection", and even checking on other various other Mafia members to make sure they were fulfilling their orders and even supplying new ones.
Juliana had hoped her friend Wogan Hemlock would succeed her husband, but was flabergasted when her very own sister-in-law whom she hated more than the Devil himself was chosen. However, the next day she was surprised to open her door and see Betty herself at her doorstep, in need of access to Luigi's files. The two formed a business-like partnership...which in no way meant they began to like each other.
