Homelife for Maree and her sisters growing up was anything but easy. Her father, Samuel, an Irish immigrant of Nigerian decent was a successful business man, an uncommon type for his time and her mother, Avi, a British immigrant of Finnish decent, an odd woman with a sketchy background. With an absent father and a mother who barely understood how to make ice, Maree and her sister often had to fend for themselves.
Childhood and young adolescents was uneventful, albeit their father was able to get both his children into the most prestigious private school in the regional area, a place that Maree hated with a passion. Despite a poor start in life with little guidance, Maree found solace in her classroom teaching assistant, a young Irish woman by the name of Aislin Šebesta. When times were rough or when her grades started slipping Aislin was always right to her rescue, it's possible to assume that Maree loved her. For once, she had an ideal role-model. It was only a few years later that Aislin disappeared, a harsh twist on reality which destroyed the lives of many.
Maree always wondered what happened to Aislin, she knew that she would never just up and leave, she loved her pupils and her life in Rosewood Heights, she had a very young infant brother and elderly parents to tend to, she wouldn't just abandoned them. It wasn't until the investigation came to a halt that Maree overheard her mother speaking to her father in which she told him "The girls already have a mother, me. Not some young redheaded idiot. Be thankful she is gone forever now." This statement always had Maree wondering, she knew her mother was a strange woman but is it a possibility that she was involved in the disappearance? Shortly after, Avi gave birth to a third child, Kassandra, a very sweet young girl with a love for animals. Like the other two, Kassandra was also left to fend for herself, Florence took pity and stuck around as much as possible to help raise Kassandra, despite the fact that both Florence and Maree were studying at University.
It bothered Maree that Florence was spending all her spare time with Kassandra, Maree felt like she had lost her best friend, to a little girl. A short time after Kassandra's birthday, Florence died under mysterious conditions, the morgue couldn't pin-point COD so once again, Maree was left without answers. Maree hated her youngest sister at this point, she blamed her for taking Florence away from her, leaving her with nothing and nobody. Kassandra didn't understand what she had done that was so wrong to make Maree hate her.
Avi's death followed shortly after, like Florence, the COD was difficult to pin-point. After graduation Samuel passed of old age, he lived a long successful life, albeit without much interaction with his own family.
