Tamsin Mayer (née James) is the wife of Eoghan Mayer, and mother of Ceara Mayer.
An aspiring cook, she was destined for a life of matrimonial bliss when she moved to Sunset Valley with her husband, daughter, and best friends. However a sordid affair with Archer Sinclair ruined her reputation, and almost ender her and Eoghan's marriage.
As an adult, Tamsin arrived in Sunset Valley with Eoghan and Ceara, along with the Sinclair family, with both families moving into 250 Redwood Parkway. For a long while this set-up worked well for the two families, with Tamsin and Opal staying home with the toddlers, whilst Archer and Eoghan started their careers, with a fair bit of money in the bank to keep them afloat.
However, things turned sour when Tamsin and Archer began and affair behind Opal and Eoghan's back, having finally succumbed to their growing feelings. This affair continued for a long while, until young Lance walked in on them together, after which the truth came crashing down. A series of furious four-way fights ensued causing everyone to doubt the future of the household, and the two families that lived there.
Tamsin begged Eoghan for forgiveness, but he was not so quick to forgive, and their relationship remained icy. The two families continued to awkwardly live together, much to the shock and judgement of the community. With the children older, Tamsin and Opal entered into their Culinary and Military careers, as everyone tried to work out where to go from here.
Soon, Ceara and Lance's birthdays arrived, as they both aged up into children. The joy of their daughter's birthday brought Tamsin and Eoghan closer together, and they made love for the first time since the affair was outed. Eoghan finally granted Tamsin his forgiveness, and not long later, they renewed their vows to one another. It was not as good news for Archer and Opal, as soon after Eoghan and Tamsin reunited, Opal officially asked Archer for a divorce, before leaving the household once and for all, and leaving young Lance in his father's care.
