A Fine is a penalty that occurs on The Sims, The Sims Bustin' Out, The Sims 2, The Urbz: Sims in the City, The Sims 2 and The Sims 2 Pets for Console, The Sims Life Stories, The Sims Pet Stories, The Sims 3 and The Sims 3 for Console. Fines usually subtract money from the household, if the player does have less than the fine, then objects will be reprocessed.

The Sims

Note: The Sims for console, The Sims Bustin' Out and the Mac OS X version is based on the Windows version of The Sims.

The Sims (Windows/Mac OS and Console) and The Sims Bustin' Out (Console)

Fines will usually occur if the player invites the Police or the Firefighter if there is no Burglar or Fire. The first time you call the police or firefighter, the player will usually receive a warning. If the player calls the police or firefighter again, they may either receive another warning or may get a fine. If the player does have less money than the fine, then the police/firefighter will take away the object to add up the fine.

It is possible for the player to be fined for too much noise, this can occur if the baby is crying or if a party is thrown, if the police officer pays a visit to the player's house, he/she will fine the player.

Fines are possible to occur if a Sim drinks the blue potion from the chemistry set during daytime. The odds of fines to occur are 1/3.[TS:LL]

The Sims Bustin' Out (Handheld)

A fine can be paid (§100) if the player is arrested to get out of jail.

The Urbz: Sims in the City

Console

Fines can occur if the player passes out or runs out of Bladder while in a district. It is possible to be fined if the player makes too much of a mess (Such as too much trash).

Unlike other games of The Sims, calling the police or firefighter will not result in a fine.

Handheld

Like Bustin' Out, if the player was arrested, he/she can pay a §100 fine to get out of jail.

The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories

Fines can occur if the player calls the police or the firefighter when no real emergency occurs. The fine is 500§.

When Hacking, there is a chance you will be caught and be fined.[TS2:U]

The Sims 2 (Other Platforms)

Console

Fines can occur if the player calls the police or firefighter which results in a §250 fine. Like other games, objects will be taken away if the money is less than the fine.

GBA

Like The Urbz, a §100 fine can be paid if the player is arrested.

DS

Everytime the player is arrested, the player is always fined §200.

The Sims 2 Pets (Console)

A fine in The Sims 3 for Windows and Mac OS X. (Post-Ambitions message box)

In The Sims 3 Ambitions and The Sims 3 Deluxe, the player can be fined if the player detonates objects outside the Junkyard or the player's home. At first, this will result in a warning and then the next time you do this, will result in a fine. Unlike other fines, this fine does not automatically take away cash but adds to you bills.
