It is split into two branches which are Mysticmystic and Scamscam Artistartist. Sims who have "Fortunefortune Teller"teller as their career go to work at the Gypsy[[gypsy Wagonwagon]], a rabbit hole featured in the same pack.

They can apply the career at the available Gypsygypsy Wagonwagon in their town - although the only neighborhood that has the Gypsygypsy Wagonwagon is in [[Moonlight Falls]] - or at their computers and laptops. At level six of the career, they have to choose one of the two branches. One focuses on mystic powers while the other focuses on making Simoleons. Fortune tellers will need to gain their [[Charismacharisma]] and [[Logiclogic]] skills (Scamscam Artistartist) or [[Alchemyalchemy]] skill (Mysticmystic) to progress in their career.

At level 2 of the career, they will have the ''"Perform Private Reading''" interaction. This allows them to earn more Simoleons for their career and boosts their relationship with potential clientèle. This is a very important factor in progressing within the Mysticmystic Branchbranch.

At level 7 of the Mysticmystic branch, they will get discounts at any Elixirelixir consignment shop in the town.

At level 10 of the Mysticmystic branch, the Sim will have the ''"Mystic Aura''". This aura will provide a glow around them when they are performing a private reading near the Gypsygypsy Wagonwagon and will cause scientists and Sims with [[Family-Orientedoriented (The Sims 3)|family-oriented]], [[Good (The Sims 3)|good]], or [[Friendly (trait)|Friendlyfriendly]] trait to dislike them.

At level 8 of the Scamscam Artistartist branch, if they ride a taxi or carpool to work before level 8, the transport will be replaced with a limousine.

At level 10 of the Scamscam Artistartist branch, they can ''"Hold Psychic Convention''sConventions". These conventions can only be held at an interval of 2–3 days.
