I am proposing that all wiki policy pages currently under full protection be transitioned to semi protection.

The Sims Wiki has multiple active administrators to monitor policy pages and strong abuse filters to prevent obvious vandalism to policy pages. Vandalism, even on high-traffic pages, is uncommon on The Sims Wiki, and is easily correctable if encountered.

Keeping the policy pages fully protected prevents them from evolving and changing gradually and organically over time. Policies should be amendable by regular users so that policies reflect current wiki consensus and practices. When we fully protect these pages, we prevent this natural progression and allow our policies to become outdated.

I am submitting this idea for consideration under unanimous consent, as outlined here. If you wish to object to the proposal that I have laid out, please do so below. If there is any objection, the request for unanimous consent will fail and the proposal will be given a full discussion. If there is no opposition to the proposal within seven days, it will be approved and adopted.

Please weigh in with your opinions. -- LiR talkblogcontribs 07:59, January 17, 2016 (UTC)

Support I believe we've discussed this before... If anyone's forgotten, I argue in favor of this because Wikipedia semi-protects their policy pages, and with Wikipedia being many, many times larger than us, and with no pressing issues about people modifying unpoliced policy pages, The Sims Wiki can certainly handle this. Removing full protection should also make the policies less intimidating, something I think this wiki needs to work on. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 11:46, January 17, 2016 (UTC)
